Skew had it right, it it easy to fire someone. It takes real creativity to get them to quit so that you or your bottom line do not absorb years of unemployment benefits.

The main thing to remember is that you do not have to give them any more than a vague reason, if that. Document everything they did to get fired but keep it for your records only or for unemployment hearing. The longer you drag out the final interview the more ammunition you are giving them for a pesky wrongful termination lawsuit.

btw... I have gotten fired myself and it was the best thing that ever happened.
