This method has never given me any reason to trust the FO. Like I said when we almost signed that other chump from Miami, Hurney sits back and ignores guys who you know what you are going to get from them-solid play, and signs these losers and hopes they magically turn into something 7 years into their career so he can look like a genius. Well's signing isn't bad...Fields signing is stupid. You go get a veteran stop gap DT, but you leave better options on the market...Dumb.

Except in our situation we only have a couple holes that can be easily filled with good vets , but we refuse to do the thing that makes the most sense. Our team is built like it should. Young guys with good talent. We just need to sprinkle in some good vets, but we choose guys that never amounted to much in the league or sign cut undrafted/late round scrubs who we never heard of.

In seriousness the first rounder should be whoever is best talent wise between the wr cb and dt I think.

I hope one of these DTs will pan out starter material. Doesn't even have to be flashy, just an efficient run stopper.

You think there is a plethora of good vets waiting to be signed right now?

Wells has started 81 games btw...and Fields has started 25.

You told on yourself in your last sentence.." who we have never heard of"...just because they've never made your all madden team does not make them bad signings..they were not signed to be starters

Ron Fields is horrific though. If you're gonna sign a 30+ y/o DT, why not go with... I dunno... Pat Williams (live without him for 2 games, big deal), Jamal Williams, Marcus Stroud, Gerard Warren, Tommie Harris, etc. It's not like they can command much money considered they don't have jobs after the season has started. And even though they're all past their primes, this new guy didn't even have one. Ugh.
