ok, I will be drug out into the street and shot for this but. Is it time to start looking for a new MLB via draft? Beason is a great player, but this is a significant injury. Carolina will only get to the SuperBowl with players that can stay healthy.

just being realistic. This is a business ladies and gentlemen. Were in it to win it. Achilles injuries tend to be nagging type injuries. As much as I like Beason, I dont want to watch a slower version of him on the field due to this injury. I'd rather Carolina win games.

If anyone can come back from a nagging injury, its Beason. As you can tell, he is very passionate about football and will do everything to get back on the field and perform at a high level once again. Also, his presence as a leader on the defense is a huge asset. Its very difficult to find players like him. I understand the business side but I truly believe he will be come back strong.

Was just having some fun with the pic. Your question is a legitimate one, and Marty and Ron do have to remove emotion from the decision making process to the extent possible.

We are in decent shape at LB, though, and I wouldn't bet against Jon coming back strong next year.

Get him the best medical care and rehab available, and monitor his progress closely. No need to make any decisions at this point.

I'll have to say with all the foolish acts some of the players in the league do, Jon Beason is a class athlete. I wish him the best on his recovery! I hope he still hangs around the team for the duration of the year. His heart, passion for the game, and leadership can only create a positive impact on the team.
