I love how everyone and their mother thinks GB is going to cause massive confusion by dropping 8 into coverage.. keep in mind most aren't smart enough to know how they will execute such a feat, and I believe they will by showing blitz and making Cam work on figuring who blitzes and who drops in coverage..

seems all I've heard is GB will play soft coverage and "we'll see how Cam plays then".. OH NOEZZ

I remember reading/hearing this, too. Can't remember where; might've been from dumb fans on other boards who assumed the Cardinals had no pass rush.

The guy was smothered the whole damn game.

Lots of geniuses on ESPN and NFL.com's message boards are pushing that angle.

Lemme tell you all, I am a dyed in the wool Saints fan. CAM...LOOKED...GREAT all things considered. Yes, the team lost; yes you all played the Cardinals. There is a reason many of you are so excited: you SAW something worth getting excited over.

My favorite indie sports blog, The Daily Hat Trick posted an article with a very glowing review of Newton, today. This was the same blog that had the Panthers "winning" the fictitious Toilet Bowl Playoffs last January. What a difference one great player can make, huh?

So what if he did "dink and dunk"? Those passes to Steve Smith were anything but. He could "dink and dunk" his way to 400 yards every week, as far as I'm concerned, and I doubt he'll have many complaints.

The Cardinals did exactly what you're suppose to do to a rookie QB...pressure the crap out of him....once other teams see how well Newton handled the pressure they will simply rush 3 and cover...that's when Newton may find himself in trouble...but I'm hoping Chud plans on dumping off passes to the TEs and RBs if this takes place and Newton doesn't try and force it down field into double and triple coverages.
