I would hope he wouldn't need any motivation other than being the #1 draft pick and starting QB for his team. But extra stuff doesn't hurt.

Its simple. If Cam played for the Packers and Cobb the Panthers, Cam wins it and it wouldnt even be close. Who can disagree with that. Or if Cam played for the Pats, Jets or Giants he wins in a landslide. As unfair as it may be, its more about the uniform put on than the performance of the player, in this case Cam wearing a Panther Uni. Cam's performance was way more impressive considering he did it leading a team on the road in hostile territory as a QB, which is easily the most important position in football.

I don't follow your line of thought. They were both rookies in their first game so it's a moot point. Their respective performances were vastly different. Cobb simply can't compare to what Cam Newton did.
