Since they deleted my thread, went looking for another one about Foxy by an "established" poster...

Found it...

What do you guys think of John Fox?..

After his 1st half as the Broncos coach, what do you guys think of the John Fox regime?..

It's been what I expected, tbh..he's a vanilla coach, which doesn't and hasn't worked on a team that lacks strength on the offensive and defensive lines..

The play-calling has been atrocious, a less creative(which is saying a lot) version of McDaniels' offense..Oakland's coach has dialed up the right calls all game, effectively using screen plays, draws and blitzes, while the Broncos have not been able to adjust..

The discipline of the team has been very poor, taking terrible penalties..the team hasn't looked fired up at all, which I always attribute partly to coaching and motivation from the leaders of the team..

Does everyone have to be emotional retards when it comes to Fox? Are you too daft that the only impression you have of him is the last few negative emotions? Lets be reasonable. Fox did some really good things here. Hell, I'd call some great. It got stale and didn't work anymore. He moved on and so did we.

Honestly, yeah he did do good things here. He put our name on the map for a while but his last year here he really burned a lot of bridges. Him checking out and cashed in last would be like an employee who you just wrote up because of performance decides to put their two weeks in and decides to just go through the motions. Would you give that employee a reference? I wouldntband that's how most panther fans feel. Those last two weeks as an employee can make you forget real quick on the good things you do.

Ownership didn't pick up 1 FA last year and cut everyone over 30 making money besides Smith. It went both ways.

True, but do you really think Fox would have really started or wanted to big up a "big" name free agent last year. I can't remember a player that I could see fit last year outside of picking up a WR that would fit fox ball. Hell I don't even know outside of Rasario who the broncos picked up in FA this year.

Owners have to sometimes trim the fat to see what works and what doesn't. If you get laid off at BoA and you blame them for not supporting you and you go to wachovia, you think any cares if they helped or not? They are still running and are doing ok without you. (could be a bad reference but oh well people can get the point).

I'm not saying that the hate on here is always deserved for Fox, but I can see where the bitterness can come from.

I'm sorry you don't get it Cat... but Fox's body of work he left here was, in the long term, a wash.

He exited with almost exactly the same number of wins as losses. By the end he was predictable as a coach, his fundamentals were out-coachable, he was stubborn about players that sucked, he was less than forthcoming with the media and the fanbase, he was at times arrogant (it is what it is), and a general lack of discipline infected our team from about his 4th year on.

After watching this for 9 years, I was ready to part ways with him amicably and "go our separate ways", but then he talked to the media on the way out the door.

http://www.digtriad.com/news/article/153595/249/John-Fox-Said-He-Knew-End-Was-Coming-For-Two-Years

John Fox has completed his last full practice with Carolina, saying he's been preparing for the end of his run coaching the Panthers for about two years.

There was a light atmosphere full of smiles and jokes as Fox guided the Panthers in their last workout in Charlotte on Friday. The team will hold a walkthrough Saturday in Atlanta before closing the season a day later against the Falcons.

Fox was first denied a contract extension after the 2008 season. He entered the last year of his contract with the Panthers beginning a youth movement that's left them an NFL-worst 2-13 in 2010.

Fox is 78-73 in nine seasons in Carolina, which includes the franchise's only Super Bowl appearance in the 2003 season

Now... what this says to me, is that Fox didn't get a big extension payout and essentially gave up on this organization, the team, and the fanbase.

Was Jerry Richardson responsible for part of this? Sure. And he's actually come forward and admitted it for the most part, and directly apologized to us as fans. That's really, really big for an owner of an NFL team to do.

But it's like a bad relationship at this point. Yeah, sure, there were some fun times... but the end was bad enough, you don't remember the good anymore. You just remember the bad.

And we want some validation that the way we saw Fox mishandle our team, was Fox, and NOT ownership or the FO.

We just got it watching that Oak@Den game.
