The John Fox' vs Da Raiders

Campbell's atrocious pass out of bounds a drive ago has just made me question how true it is though. Are QB's and offenses so far ahead of defenses that the only way to be an elite defense anymore, is to make the other QB play as poorly as possible..Are good QB's that much better than everyone else on the field, of course implying that having a bad QB gives you no chance of winning, or are there more bad QB's than it seems, but the benefit form good coaching and good systems...that's the long version of what I'm trying to ask.

I don't think it's that there are a ton of bad QBs, it's that there are a ton of 'average' QBs. These guys are all capable of looking great sometimes, but more often than not they need a lot of help to win. Some of them might be called "game managers."

The amount of help needed varies by individuals, of course. So we often squabble over who is better than who, who is "great" versus "good." Some are more capable than others at carrying a team for a certain amount of time than others.

Then there's a small number of quarterbacks that are truly elite... like Brady, who are dangerous nearly any time they touch the ball no matter what is happening with the rest of the team.
