Official Beason has torn Achilles. Out For Season

It was Beason's call.

Training staff can only ask how he feels.

He knew the risks.

If anyone can get back, he can.

I hate this excuse.

You think a competitor like Beason is going to tell them he doesn't want to play? He would be out there in a wheel chair if they let him. At some point you need to be able to tell your EMPLOYEE what is best for them. Sitting for a week wasn't going to make or break our season.

fuging infuriated he was let on the field. Training staff should have learned from Davis.

I think he'll get back, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

If it is an achilles tear or whatever, why would there even be consideration for him coming back this year. It doesn't matter if it was Beason or the training staff/coaches call.

Also, let's be honest, we probably are not super bowl ready this year. Let's see what Connor can do, get good draft picks next year and beast up that defense to the best of their ability, and let Beason come back when fully healthy.

All it takes is not rushing back. Takes days off from rehab if it is hurting. Build that strength back up to 100% but take it slow. Absolutely no reason to rush.

Nobody thought Thomas Davis could come back and be anything like he used to be. But with proper rehab and not rushing he looks like the TD of old.

Beason is young and a warrior. He won't let this stop him.

if the doctors cleared you to play and you feel fine...your going to freaking play you're not going to worry about the injuries..thats what the training staff is for... anywho Achilles injuries are a bitch......i am trying to leaving a little hope open that he will be player he once was.....get well soon beason

Most just assume that becuase Beason had trouble with his Achilles that this tear is just he logical conclusion of returning too soon. Maybe but maybe not.

http://orthopedics.about.com/b/2006/02/26/does-achilles-tendonitis-lead-to-achilles-tendon-tears.htm

Many patients are concerned about Achilles tendon rupture, and if tendonitis will lead to eventual rupture of the Achilles tendon. The answer is, not usually. Only a small percentage of patients (about 20%) who have an Achilles tendon rupture had any symptoms of tendonitis prior to their injury...

So if Beason was being treated for tendonitis then the assumption that it would lead to a tear isn't really accurate. It's very possible that tendon has just worn down over the years and the tear would have happened regardless of any previous Achilles problem. From a medical point of view thinking Beason was healthy enough to return to playing from tendonitis of the achilles is pretty valid.

I'm not a doctor but I do know how to Google.

The article on PFT said that full ruptures usually don't require an MRI to tell because they're so obvious. Also said that the MRI could be a good sign that it's only a partial tear.

At any rate, he will be back. This is Beason we're talking about here; all this 'he's done' bullshit needs to stop. He's coming back. I'd bet anything on it.
