It's a rebuilding year. We could go 0-16 this season and I won't feel bad as long as I see improvement.

Forgive us if we are a little happy about our first round pick (who everybody and there brother has bashed since April) came out and had the best performance of any rookie QB ever

Forgive us if we've found a little Joy in seeing Charles Johnson and Greg Hardy coming off the end and showing us the first sight of a defensive end tandem since Ruck and Pep.

Forgive us if we're a little excited about our young (and extremely inexperienced team) going into a tough place to play and all but winning the game (and if you want to argue if Arizona is a tough place to play or not, check out thier home record under Wisenhut....20-12)

And to add one more note, our entire division is 0-1 (with the Bucs and Falcons looking really sorry). Not that we are going to be winning a division title this year, but it is nice to see those other bast**ds struggling too.

The purpose of this thread... If you feel there is no purpose, why even bother responding to it? Basically the purpose of this thread, and I imagine all the other threads on this section of the forum, is to have a discussion relating to the Panthers. (ideally a civil one but that's a bit of a reach here)

I'm highlighting some of the negative aspects of week 1 and hoping to steer the overall attitude of the forum into being more realistic.

There were definitely negatives, however they were negatives that can be fixed with timing and coaching.

This team had no offseason work and they came out and played decent.

Imagine this board if Cam had melted down and had a stat line of 150 yds with 3 INT's

otherwise we stopped the run effectively and were 21-7.. (21-14 at the end of game)..

Fair point but there is an overwhelmingly positive response to a loss. I'd personally take the 150 yds and 3INT's with a win. Not sure that can be said of some of the posters here. It seems personal accolades are more important than wins now.
