For me, a selfproclaimed realist, I would say he had a Exceptional game.

He most likely won't do it again ever in his career.

BUT! He showed he can make throws, go through progressions, and move the offense.

I believe teeray is refering to those things improving and the thus making the offense as a whole better and very dangerous. Not Cam having 400+ yard passing games on a regular basis.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he throws more picks than TD's this week. Against a must better defense and better opponent in general.

For anyone to suggest he will or should throw for 400 yards again in his career let alone his rookie year ignore the fact that Brady for example has never thrown for 400 yards in a game in his career. In fact, a lot more have not versus those who have.

Secondly, who thinks that throwing for 400 yards is desirable often?? When Weinke threw for 423 yards, did we win?? No. With our emphasis on the running game and the passing game as a complement, I would think that 400 yards passing indicates what happened last night. We are either behind or our running game is abysmal which is not a good thing.

And lastly even if he sucks the rest of the season he has shown everyone he is ready for this league and can be our franchise QB. Nothing he does next week or any week in the future takes away from what he did last night. And no matter what the haters want you to believe Newton is more the real deal than troll posters claiming the title. You don't just get lucky and have the night he had no matter who you are playing without a ton of skill.

As far as throwing for 400 yards again?

I think we will see it again. Several times. At least a handful of times more in his career.

Why? What was the one thing people raved about when he came out? His arm strength and deep throw touch. He didn't look great in the combine with it, but the thing with Cam is he shows up when the lights come on.

I'm not a prisoner of the moment, people know what I've said about him from day one, and so far he's done great. We can not underestimate what he brings to the table. Everyone of his abilities helps our offense, and they make a defense second guess... That's why I can see him throw for this amount of yardage again. I actually see many more games where he has even better stats.

Even Mr. Scot said he would compare him more to Brett Favre and John Elway. If you have a guy with that ability and he's hitting on his throws, like Cam did yesterday, the defense is almost helpless. But, again, I think Cam's talents and skill set are unique to him, so when he gets experience under his belt he's gonna be something that the NFL has never seen before - like he showed them yesterday, whether it was the the Cards or not.

No doubt, he will have some rough spots this year but will learn from them and be that much better. Panther fans should be more hyped than they ever have before, we have a franchise QB.

40 TDs?

I said 16 and 16. I believe I said 60% completions with roughly 205 ypg and somewhere around 7ypa.

All realistic numbers.

I'm not sheltering young Cam. I have high expectations for him and I will hold him to that standard. I will not baby him, make excuses for him, nor lower my expectations to a level which an UDFA can attain.

Probably the best player Carolina has ever had.

He's so good, I don't even think defenses will be able to stop him ever. We might have a perfect TD/Drive ratio this year. We should probably cut both kickers because we won't need to kick extra points or field goals all year long because Cam can just run them in himself for 2. It's only 2.5 yards and Cam is bigger than most everyone in the NFL, he's just as fast, and is more athletic than nearly everyone combined so they will probably just LET him walk in but if they try to tackle him I expect Cam to pancake them.

Think about it, defenses will have to put 10 guys in the box and blitz every play to stop Cam's amazing running ability but when they do he will be able to shrug off defenders like they are traffic tickets and use his part laser part rocket arm to throw the ball anywhere on the field he wants for a TD. If they try and play a zone defense he will just run for 20 yards per carry, Duh! Winning!

Everyone should just forfeit to the Camrolina Camthers next season. If we are smart we will cut every player and let Cam go 1 on 11 all season. With the money we save, we can work on cloning Cam so we can have future Cam's forever! :Cam:

I think he'll probably throw for 3000 yards this year and close to 40 TDs with maybe 1 Int and it will likely be Armanti's fault. He'll run for another 1400 and 16 TDs with no fumbles.

Chalk it up bitches! This is the Cam express and don't try and hop on the bandwagon now, ya'll just a bunch of hatin ass bitches.
