Making People Eat Crow

I'm not making people eat crow. I am just being a realist. These guys told me Cam wasn't ready, didn't have the tools to be an NFL QB, he wasn't accurate enough to ever be successful, and needed time to develop. Man I can't fugging wait until he actually gets it.

Great game by the kid, but are you willing to call him a bust if he struggles next week? Week 3?

I'm not eating crow, if anything, I'm again right on target with Newton, just look at my season predictions.

All of you who lowballed him should be eating crow.

Also, anyone wanting anyone else to eat crow after one game against one of the worst teams in the league is setting themselves up for failure.

Cam might not pass for 400 yards again this season, but that would be teams pulling back in the blitz, focusing on pass coverage, and opening up the running game.

Well. Cam Newton did more in one week than Jimmy or Matt could do in 16 last season. Provide tangible hope for the future of the franchise at the QB position.

Not all of that was their fault last year but how many times have you heard me say in regards to Cam that I don't need greatness this year, just flashes that show me he can be that guy.

In a lot of ways he exceeded even that modest expectation in just the first quarter alone. The rest of the game was just eye popping gravy, even for me who was one of Cam's strongest supporters.

So in a lot of ways after just one game he has confirmed my belief that he can indeed be special. Whether he will be or not is yet to be seen. But he has already proven, in just one game, that he has that ability.

And just wait until this guy you labeled a "project" fully develops. Holy poo right??
