Making People Eat Crow

Panthro

Recommended Posts

Played fairly well in preseason

You did it again. Ignored the elephant in the room to totally deflect the whole argument into whether or not he played well in preseason. Ignore that you said he wouldn't be ready for 2 or 3 years, and then have backpedaled so quickly you fell down numerous times. Typical of all your arguments, try and win one point while you ignore the much larger argument.

Some people deserve. I usually object to the internet tough guy thing, but some people act like they know everything and its annoying. If they eat crow than maybe they will not be so quick to post moronic things in the future or blind fully hate on a player before he has a chance.

Folks, stop arguing with TRD. Notice how he constantly changes the argument without addressing the issue at hand or larger argument. Arguing with him is pointless. You can make a bunch of very valid points but after he takes one line, word or concept and totally skews the argument you end up hopping down bunny trails all day. That is his point. He knows he was wrong but hates to admit it, so he deflects the issue constantly. Then he gets pinned down he admits he is wrong by presenting a sarcastic over the top post like OMG he is the greatest and will throw for 10,000 yards instead of admitting what we all know which is he has been wrong all along about Newton.

Think of it this way. Just like Panthro said making people eat crow is a waste of time, trying to get TRD to admit he was wrong is the same thing. It is like trying to teach a pig to whistle, it doesn't work and it wastes a lot of time while the pig learns nothing.

Now watch. He will take my post and say something, like I admitted I was wrong about Cam but.....................

Anyone besides grits believe he is sincere? Thought so............

It IS the beginning of something great. And I typically don't like to play the "disrespect" or "under the radar" card...

But, to have these many people getting paid to analyze football and declare OUR QB to be a project, yet, he comes out and performs the way he did. Yet, these same guys continue to troll on national media outlets... That's just too much disrespect for me.

But, ultimately, it doesn't matter what they say. We know what we have, and we're gonna surprise some people this year... Just would appreciate it if people would man up nowadays.

not sure, but i thought that panthro was talking about panther fans trying to force other panther fans to eat crow. just be the bigger cat and let them on board without trying to rub their noses in it. i just don't see how anyone benefits from it.
Eating crow is supposed to keep stupid people from giving their opinions in the future.

We're all better off if these people shutty.

meh....everyone has stupid opinions and could fall into the category of being stupid. you end up getting smarter by making mistakes. i welcome all opinions as long as they come from people who are generally open-minded and who aren't annoyingly persistent trolls.
Admitting that you're wrong is one of the hardest things to do.

However, some people really deserve the extra help after the ridiculous poo talking they've done.

agreed to a point, but it shouldn't be standard practice to try and rub their noses in it. might just be me, tho.
Serve me up a big old plate of crow....with a little I Told You So on the side.

I did like Cam's potential, but I was one who absolutely believed that he was NOT ready to start.

I was ABSOLUTELY wrong.

solid.
I don't really care, but I want to see guys like Kurt Warner and Merrill Hoge step up and admit they were wrong.
agreed. glad kurt warner stood up. i doubt that hoge wil do anything except prove over an over that he's a douche that shouldn't be taken seriously. he's essentially a well paid narrow-minded piss ant.
Why dwell on the past? If people would look forward to the future of the Panthers instead of dwelling on the past it would go a long ways. What if he struggles next week. Then we are back to the same old cycle and played out argument.
yep. just move forward.

Dominated yet only put up 21?

He had a great statistical game, but by no means dominated.

See statements like this should be banned. They are stupid, unfounded, and have no back up at all. He was the best player on the field by far, dominated the majority of time he was on the field and put up great stats. he gets any special teams or coverage help from the D and we win, yet some people are too blind to admit or see it and it ruins a message board. And no he is not bringing a smart opposite view for debate, he is trolling for the sake of it and in reality knows nothing.

Hate to feed the troll but it is a prime example.

So was Cam the reason we lost the game?

Why did we lose the game? Where does the blame go?

You can tell folks who have never played a team sport at a high level. They would look at LeBron Jame's performance where he scored 50 points and say it wasn't dominant because they lost when he played for Cleveland without recognizing that the problem was the supporting cast not James. Very telling actually.

It is a bunny trail designed to peg the argument to something that can not be proven or is a small microcosm of the original argument. It is a favorite trick of his. You got sucked in like we all do. Don't sweat it, he is an expert at this.

Isn't his job to put up points?

No doubt he had a great statistical game, but he didn't dominate the game. We put up 3 touchdowns. That's it.

Let's not get carried away with his performance.

It's also the defenses job to stop the opposing team from scoring.

Let's not get carried away with a record setting performance? Yeah sorry about that.
