Making People Eat Crow

I actually forgot what the topic was...

Got it, people crowing Cam after one game yet not willing to criticize him if he has a bad performance.

Actually the original topic was about not making Cam doubters eat crow because it's a pointless exercise. Those that doubted his abilities were proven wrong in the first game. But there's also 15 more regular season games to judge him on.

As of right now ...at this moment in time. The doubters were proven to be absolutely wrong but you or anyone else doesn't need to be forced into saying so. It's pointless.

I underestimated how important I am to many of you on here.

I also said he threw streaks to wide open guys...

I wish I had standards as low as yours for my team, but I'm a real fan, not some player fan.

Carry on.

I am lost without you.

Not sure what you mean by my standards being low for my team  I am just being a realist.

people are just waiting on the bad performances before being critical....but even then they understand that is part of the learning process for a rookie.

Declaring that they were "proven wrong" means that in the past they were "proven right."

This proof changes weekly it seems.

That first sentence doesn't make sense. It could be assumed to be correct, just like you assumed you were correct about Cam not being able to play QB in the NFL. You assumption was proved wrong because he has proven he can play in this league. Now he has to prove he can sustain it.

And the proof changes weekly because the haters backpedaling causes the goal posts to be moved every week.

Soon it will be "He can't win a game" than "He can't make the playoffs" then "He can't win a Super Bowl"

Hopefully one by one Cam crosses each new benchmark you guys set for him the same way he has to this point

You're right...flawless performance.

No performance is flawless. Not even Brady last night. But for a rookie that had only seen "vanilla" schemes to that point I was duly impressed.

You realize that he really doesn't even know what he is doing yet right?? Yet he still dominated that game. Now as he gets more comfortable and improves certain areas of his mechanics he should only get better.

That means more efficient not 400 yards games becoming the norm.

Not gonna lie, I was not thrilled with the Cam pick, but knew that it was going to happen. I now support him fully, and hope for the best. Probably going to take the middle road this season, and not get too excited nor angry at his performances.

I will not be eating crow because of Cam, I will gladly eat a ton over Edwards and until recently Brown. I have been totally against those picks from day 1.

That is one of the most ridiculous statements that you have ever made and 100% false. When you make an assumption that statement can be false regardless of it's previous correctness, in fact having something proven false, by definition, proves that it was never "right" in any way.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
