Funny how one game means he can be that guy.

Didn't Volek have a few 400 yard games?

Are you saying no matter what, nothing he does the rest of the season matters because he already had 1 good game?

Not sure if Volek had a 400 yard game in his rookie debut I will have to check. Oh wait no he couldn't have because no one has ever done that before. Nevermind.

For a game that so often makes rookie QBs look completely frazzled, even the good ones, it is pretty significant that he accomplished what he did in his first game with no OTAs or mini camp.

Especially for a guy that you told me before the draft had no transferable tools, had terrible mechanics, would have trouble adapting to an NFL system, and that only threw bubble screens in college.

So to answer your question, in a lot of ways yeah, what he does the rest of the season doesn't really matter. Maybe if he just falls completely on his face and looks like :jc: the rest of the season, then maybe we look at it again. But for the time being he has more than proven himself as a guy that has the ability (doesn't mean he will be) to be a franchise QB in just one game. And you can't take that away from him even if he throws 3 picks next week.
