This loss will be good for Cam

Brooklyn Bully

He won in JUCO. He won at Auburn. Winning is all he knows. He's got the swagger of a winner. And now... he's lost.

Even though he set a record today, he himself was his harshest critic, telling reporters that he has much work left to do. I don't think he'll go for 400+ against the Packers, but I do think what we saw today was true. He simply "has it". And now, he will work even harder to get better.

This loss will only push him to excel. The future sure seems bright in Carolina. It's just a shame the NFL is a win now league. This team has too many holes in it for him to be a winner on the next level this season.

I don't think we have "too many holes", we could easily make some corrections and compete. Team has only been together 6 weeks, still feeling things out, installing schemes, etc.

We have a few issues, but nothing that can't be fixed.

We need better DTs, and our secondary as is, is weak. You can't correct that. Our O-Line has also seemingly gone south. That, may be fixable.

I don't think Cam really knows how he's supposed to react to a loss. So what we saw out of him directly following the game: his facial expressions, depressing quotes, etc. were the rawest form of emotion you can get. He hasn't prepared himself to deal with losses and I don't think the man likes it at all. He didn't say "we are young and I'm glad we competed"; he wanted to talk about what HE could do better to make sure it doesn't become a regular occurrence. Now, the reality is we are gonna lose and lose a good bit probably. But as long as he keeps his same frame of mind and competes the way he did today, we are going to be just fine as a franchise.

I think 1 DT, a big vet, would do wonders.

CB's played well save for a few mistakes.

O-line is fine, they were determined to stop the run and pass blocking was solid for a unit that's been together for 4 days in a new offense.

It's game one in a new scheme with no offseason. This crap doesn't just come together over night.

It's funny how he didn't want to let the team down, when in fact the team let him down.

That's the thing. He actually said the O-Line played well tonight. You know darn well he knows thats bull poo but he puts it all on him, which is a good thing and a bad thing. He is accountable for this team, because this team is HIS, and I don't mean that in a bad way. The team believes in him and that should only improve their play over time.

I don't think you should bash your offensive line when you are just a rookie, plus basing any teammate in the media is bad. But he needs to tell them in the locker room "Hey guys you need to protect me" I don't think Newton wants to come across as being a douche.

I wasn't faulting him for it, I was applauding him for what he said.

I don't think he needs to tell them anything. They know he's the guy, they react to his leadership, & they should push themselves to be able to protect him better.

I know Gross sure as hell has bought into him & will fight for him.

Jordan Gross said the Cardinals were “blitzing like crazy.”

“Everybody believes in him,” Gross said. “We’re never looking around wondering who is going to make the play. I know our receivers believe in him as well. He’s our quarterback and he’s taken that by the reins and led the charge
