You may not have agreed with Kurt's decision, but don't question whether he is a class act....he IS.

He is a stand-up guy in everything he does.

Heard a story about him and his family. He was teaching his kids about generosity and caring...story was that every time his family eats out at a restaurant, he lets one of his kids pick another family there. Kurt them picks up their check. Told his kids that he and his family were VERY blessed...and that sharing with others is more important that what you have.

Everyone needs to temper their enthusiasim. Cam looked phenomenal yesterday. But, it was only one game. He could very well come out and bomb the next few games....doubtful but possible.

He showed exactly why we took him and exactly the type of player he can be. He WILL have games where he looks bad...every rookie does.

But, I will admit when I was wrong. He WAS the right pick at #1.

Why? We suffered through last season, dismal performances by our qbs, and had nothing to feel good or excited about when we looked to the future.

I expect Newton to look like a rookie in several upcoming games. I expect him to eventually get flustered and confused, but, I'm still excited as hell at the potential we have in him. I am enthusiastic.

Temper the enthusiasim was aimed at those ready to induct him into the HOF becuase of ONE game.

We should be very excited about his play yesterday. It was phenomenal. It shows exactly what type of QB he has the potential to be.

I just accept that he will look bad in games this season.....he is a rookie.

But even if he does....what I saw yesterday provides me with enough excitement of what he likely will be to live through those tough games.

Amen. That game will tide me over during the rough patches also.

No, he went a lot farther than that, and pretty much ridiculed the whole idea of a "run first QB" being successful in the league.

how exactly is that wrong lol? who are the run first qbs that have truly been successful? atl vick was certainly popular but he was not that *good.*

also, idk why anyone would get pissy at the idea that cam isn't/wasn't ready. no poo he's not "ready", he's a rookie who barely had any offseason to train with the team. we are all happy that he had a great game yesterday (thank you steve smith), but that doesn't mean everything in the preseason goes out the window. we still have 15 games left lol. if newton sucks dick (doubtful and i certainly hope not) for the next 15 games are you all going to tweet kurt warner back?

pretty much all rookie qbs have rocky/bad seasons. it is prob not something to be proud if you truly thought newton was going shine anywhere close to this out of the gate, b/c it prob means you are delusional
