Winners and losers from todays game vs the Cardinals

Winners

Cam Newton- Broke the record for most yards by a debuting QB, rookie or not with 422 yards. Also threw for 2 TD's and ran for one. Hushed his naysayers. Really brought some respect to Carolina. No brainer. :cam:

Steve Smith- Got his swag back. 178 receiving yards and 2 receiving TD's. (had him on my fantasy team) These two are going to have a BRIGHT future together. No brainer as well.

Brandon Lafell- 4 receptions for 70 yards. Came up with some HUGE catches. Showed that he actually does have hands. Showed that he MAY be capable to be our #2 while Gettis is out. He has a HUGE opportunity with this team and the situation we're in.

Chris Gamble- Proved that he can still be relied upon as a #1 corner. Only allowed 3 catches for Fitz.

Greg Hardy- notched a sack and forced fumble and had a ton of pressures. Was in Kolb's face often. Going to have a bright future!

honorable mention: Greg Olsen- Played great for his Panthers debut. Exactly what we expected of him.

Losers

O-Line/Running game- No holes all night. Only 74 rushing yards.:(

Run D- wasnt as bad as some expected but we still gave up too many big runs to a no name RB.

SPECIAL TEAMS- essentially lost the game for us with that punt return. Couldnt do much with our returns either. No confidence in Mare? Punting from the 40 yard line???!!!

Team as a whole- Was explosive in the pass game but was very 1 dimensional. With a run game and a run d, we would have easily of won this game.

dishonorable mention- pass D. Played a lot better than we all thought that they would but gave up too many big plays in crucial moments.

You do realize that kicking a FG when the LOS is the 40 nets a 58 yard FG. Trying one from that distance woudl be VERY stupid.

additional loser- Naanee. Was handed the #2 receiver spot on a golden platter. He then proceeded to throw up on it and send it back with a note that said "Responsibility, whats that? Responsibility, not quiet yet."

As much as I've been on the Charles Johnson got paid too much he had a good game today, it's pretty much our DE's are pretty good and our DT's suck ass. losing beason is going to hurt

yes however Weinke's performance was still fuging awful in comparison so we might as well give that record to Cam

C Johnson had a terrific game. If Beason tore his achilles our long-term goals just took an enormous blow.

Just watched the Cardinals post game presser. Perhaps the biggest loser of all time is Patrick Peterson. He said, (on pass defense) "I feel like I had a pretty good game. He made some plays, I made some plays..."

Damn, wish he would have gotten that one too. I knew he was close but couldn't remember what Weinke's record was. That Olsen or DLo drop would have been the difference.
