Gamble

Never called Gamble a shut down corner.....he is a solid CB.

And, I have just watched Revis (best CB in the game) give up some nice catches to Dez Bryant...guess he is a bum and the Jets should bench him.

Yeah, but here's what you're not considering...

If our D is going to be Blitz happy, Gamble will have to be a shut down corner against #1 receivers. He's going to have situations where he's out in man coverage.

And you're also completely forgetting that Gamble HAD HELP in double coverage on Fitz for a large chunk of the game.

You guys have to consider that our secondary isn't used to having to cover on blitzes after so many years in Fox's system. I think once they get more familiar and comfortable they'll be fine.

That said, I fully expect to be abused next week by the Packers. But that's OK with me because they are the Packers and it's Aaron fuging Rodgers.

Which reminds me: Cam fuging Newton.

I don't think that's fair to say, we don't know what the calls were or if mistakes were made.

when you see jeff king jogging (or in his case, running full stride) down the sideline it's never because he just burned somebody

that's not to say i think mcdermott sucks, because i was one of the first people to advocate him, but he needs to learn how to account for big plays like that. A lot of his play calls were very well timed.

It's not like Kolb was terrible tonight, or that Arizona was struggling in the passing game - the fact Kolb did so well despite a rather mediocre performance from Fitz suggests that we did, in fact, shut Fitz down with our coverage. Since Gamble was nearly always matched up with him, I think it's fair to give him props for it... not that he was great, because he wasn't, but he was good IMO.

No, I'm not. 62 of the 303 passing yards Kolb got was against Gamble. Given their average field position, that's almost a whole drive.

The only receiver who had more yards was Beanie Well, their RB, running out of the backfield (which is not the Secondary's responsibility to cover).

Doucet 3 catches 105 yards 1 TD. Since when was 105 lower than 62?

Pugh was late everywhere! The guy probably won't make it back to Charlotte until Tuesday.

Martin definitely was late getting over on the pass to Fitz, but did lay a good hit on him that could have jarred the ball loose. Props to Fitz for getting off the jam, using his gazelle-like strides and go up get the ball, and hang on to it after contact from Martin's helmet.

He is an elite WR - Gamble had a great game.

Yes, you are. Barring injury, this game today will likely rank as one of the worst of the year for Fitz. If we see these guys again, I will be very happy to give Fitz another day like today.

Not to mention that Kolb dropped a perfectly thrown ball right into Fitz's hands. Sometimes a great pass and an elite WR trumps a good defensive play.
