Gamble

He had a good game, but the staple of a top corner is making the big stops when it matters the most, unfortunately he didn't do that. But we did get the ball back with a shot to win.

Ditto, a top corner makes that stop more times then not....Gamble on the other hand has been burnt more times then not....

If that completion would have happened in the first quarter it would have been no big deal. It's that Gamble gave that completion up at the worst possible time. I'm not a Gamble hater by any means he's by far the best corner we have on the team and I honestly think he has the talent to be a great corner....he just doesn't go full speed all the time and it burns him bad more times then not. As someone already said the completion ended up not mattering really but at the time it was a back breaker and I've seen it happen to Gamble too many times in the past. Gamble played well today but his play has always had room for improvement and with as much money as he's making people are going to expect a lot out of him. You're right the safety was late but Gamble was beat on that play....

Gamble held the BEST WR IN FOOTBALL to 4 catches for 63 yards and zero TD's.

Damn man....if you expect perfection on every play, you will forever be disappointed.

He played the pass pretty well....the pass was PERFECTLY thrown....and the safety was late coming over.

Gamble had a damn good day.

indeed

Gamble looked back at the 1st down stick to try and make a play.

I believe he was trying to jump a short 1st down route and Fitz got him on the deeper route.

Again he held the best WR in football to 4-5 catches ?

Not a bad day at the office.

Andre Johnson is the best WR in football, and Megatron could give Fitz a run.

But yes, Fitz is incredible, and FTR....Gamble held him to only 3 catches..Two of which Gamble just made great, great plays.

(Steve Smith is better than all of them though)

Are you REALLY that ignorant about football.

Kolbs stats came on two plays....the busted coverage to King and the bonehead defensive call on the Doucet pass.

Other than that....Kolb had less than 200 yds passing.

Geesh...my wife apparently knows more about football than you do.

Hey, bud... last I checked, you thought Cam was a terrible pick and couldn't start as a NFL QB.

I just gave you the stats, and you want to argue about my football knowledge?

Being a "Shut down Corner" means you don't let your covered receiver blow your coverage.

No, I'm not. 62 of the 303 passing yards Kolb got was against Gamble. Given their average field position, that's almost a whole drive.

The only receiver who had more yards was Beanie Well, their RB, running out of the backfield (which is not the Secondary's responsibility to cover).

Gamble was covering the BEST DAMN WR IN THE GAME. What he held him to (4 catches for 63 yds and ZERO TD's) was a damn fine performance.

Fitz makes a living out of torching secondaries.

I'm sorry, but was Fitz the one scoring points? No.

And enough of the contract poo, I don't see you guys complaining about Dwill not deserving his contract out there.

Gamble was on their top receiver, the entire game. He did his job, with safety help and prevented him from scoring. The game is won on points, not yards. If you guys needed to criticize ANYTHING from this game. This is not it.

FYI - Even after this game, Kevin Kolb has thrown more picks than TDs in his career with a 77.6 rating in 8 starts...

He just put up almost 30% of his total yardage in this one game than he has had in his BEST YEAR.

Our Secondary did not do well. Gamble... did not play well. I'm sorry.

What Kolb did in Phily really shouldn't matter.

Look at what Larry Fitzgerald has done in his career. That's why I think that Gamble played pretty well...

D-Will earned his contract though....Gamble got a huge deal that everyone said wtf is Hurney thinking....

Never called Gamble a shut down corner.....he is a solid CB.

And, I have just watched Revis (best CB in the game) give up some nice catches to Dez Bryant...guess he is a bum and the Jets should bench him.

Perfection? No.

But giving up huge catches isn't even close to a damn good day.
