Who would o' thought?

No one in America except for Cam's family thought that he could do what he did today. Of course it would have been sweeter with a victory, but you can't blame that on Newton.

I just want everyone to take a moment and reflect upon what Cam did today. Seriously. He probably facced more adversity than any player coming out of college in regards to naysayers, and Cam's ability to run a pro-style offense and be an effective pocket passer. Cam came to a team with a near totally new coaching staff (who also deserves a lot of credit), and didn't have the luxury of OTAs or an offseason coaching. He probably had the shortest amount of time out of any rookie QB ever, and then he comes out and passes for more yards than Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, etc.

I hate that we lost, and I especially hate it for Cam, but if anyone would have told me I'd be totally excited and pumped after losing, I'd have told them they were lying. But Cam Newton's obvious leadership, inspiration, and play has just made all Panther's fans' outlook on the future a lot brighter.

Cameron is a special player and a classy young man. I said it months ago, no way the big dogs co-sign a scrub the way they've been co-signing Cameron.

Now, now KT you never claimed him to be any kind of prodigy. Most of your posts really just told us you supported him because he was black.

Really? Prove it. Show me that post. I said those poeple were idiots who compared him to Jamarcus from day one. I would prove your posts but I don't have to, that poo was everywhere and everyone already knows. Don't be butthurt, you made all those posts.

Actually me and many of those who have seen this kid play believed in him. Sadly, my biggest concern was the rest of the team but that is why he was drafted first.

Your negative energy after what we just witnessed says alot about you. Be happy I was right and led the charge for us to draft this stud. I was resolute in my belief that Cam could be our guy. Thank me later. :cam:

kurt13warner Kurt Warner

Big enough man to admit when wrong: Cam Newton is impressing me today! Said he wouldn't b ready, but sure looks like he is to me! #fb

warner said it. ;)

also KT if you had anything to do with Cam at all I might thank you, but pretty much all you are responsible for is riling up message boards.

Negative energy? I'm estatic I supported Cam the day we drafted him.

But Newton doesn't = the Panthers and while I am exited about him I am sad for the other parts of our team.

but, I am totally exited seeing Cam and am buying Packers tickets right now to see him up close.

I was one of the first to believe in him on this board. I was very passionate about us drafting him while others chose to listen to noise. That cant be disputed. I said people would come late to the party and act like they were always on board. :D FortySix&2 is proving me right. Some people cant admit when they were wrong.

Oh I know you were on his bandwagon as one of the first, and you certainly appear to have been right, but you weren't responsible for him so I'm not gonna thank you for him.

I'll thank Hurney. ;)

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
