Think of an achilles as a rubber band tension in your leg, once that tendon is ruptured the tension is never 100%. If he ruptured it, he has just put his career in jeopardy.

A torn Achilles is definitely not a career-ending injury. Will he be done for the season? Yes. Will he probably be out some next season? Probably, yeah. But, in the end, the injury is going to hurt his career that much.

EDIT: It also depends on the degree of the tear.

Take your toes and point your foot towards your head, that tension you feel in the back of your leg is the achilles, now imagine rupturing that and try planting to tackle a 220lb RB while shedding off a 300lb offensive lineman, this is not good for the Beast if true

Beason's a competitor. I'm sure he had a part in coming back just as much as anyone else.

Should have rested him another week or two. Sad thing is everyone would be questioning why he is being sidelined and complaining. This is the reason. Now the guy has to deal with this and probably won't see football for a while.

I have never seen an NFL player be anywhere near the same after the injury. Spikes had that injury and came back but wasn't anywhere near the beast he was before hand.

Ultimately it falls on the trainers more than anybody. Yeah Beason wanted to play and wanted to compete but if he's not healthy its the trainers job to sit his ass down if he's not ready. I still hate that this happened to him. He's my favorite player on the team and I JUST got a brand new Beason jersey in the mail last week.

Relax a bit before freaking over this. If it's just a partial tear and not a complete rupture it's 2-3 months of recovery and 2-3 months of rehab to get back to 100%. It's a HUGE concern if it's a rupture though. If it is the case, continue freaking out.
