Cam Newton is The Real Deal

This thread was directed to all the hard-core critics, not an individual poster.

We have been hearing for months why Cam couldn't get it done, and why we shouldn't have picked him. It's obvious he really did just put it all in that mental chamber and turn it into motivation.

I was very proud of him today and very excited for the Panther's organization.

Always said a lot of those doubts were "old ideas" steeped in fear. Cam is some folks "worst nightmare". He's already breaking records and exceeding expectations. This kid is the future and frankly some people were scared to death of that.

I was anti-Cam and pro-Clausen but 1)all the Clausen-fans have to accept that he doesnt fit the scheme and 2)Newton did today more for the Panthers in 1 game than Clausen in a whole season, though he did "enough" to get the 1st ovr, what an irony. :D

Jimbo has had the chance to "fit" two completely different schemes.

1 of which (davidson's) was very similar to that which he ran in college. Hate to tell you, but Jimmy just plain can't make it in the NFL.

What exactly were we afraid of? What old ideas were we clinging to? I didn't want Cam, and I'm not afraid to admit that. What exactly was I afraid of? How was he my worst nightmare?

Cam put up Matt Staford week ten rookie numbers in his first game...And I bet u dollars to donuts he is pissed as heck despite his great day.

Exactly. So am I. These guys wanted this win, and they know they blew a huge opportunity to actually make a statement.

A loss is never a statement, unless it's a blow-for-blow boxing match decided by judges.
