Cam Newton breaks Peyton Manning's record in his first game

Most passing yards in his rookie debut in week 1.

Old Record: Peyton Manning 302 yards in 1998

New Record: Cam Newton 422 yards in 2011

That's OUR Quarterback, folks.

UPDATE: Cam Newton is the 1st player to throw for 400 yards in his debut in NFL history (not just for rookies). The record was 346 by Otto Graham in 1950.

Before you vote Cam MVP, just remember. The Colts were REALLY bad the first year that Peyton played.

Colts in 1998 finished 3-13. Their first game was against the Miami Dlphins (A division raval at that time.) That year the 'FINS finished with a record of 10-6 and was a Wild Card team. I don't see Arizona being a Wild Card team this year, though time will tell.

But I was impressed with Cam's play.

Very impressive debut for Cam so far. Let's keep it in perspective though. It's one game against one of the worst teams in the NFL last year that's starting two rookie cornerbacks.

Now if he can keep up this level of play against the Packers I'll be impressed.

uhh he faced blitzing all day...save it man...he ran for his life several times and he still put the ball on the $$$$$$....Cards have a good D...and Cam did his thing
