Why do some of these experts think Cam can't develop accuracy....

those comments had nothing to do with race.

i'm about as white as can be and i think cutler is a hack that can't cut it when it counts. VY is a headcase off the field, but on the field he's shown that he can do more than cutler ever has.

your post was more race baiting than anything anyone else said.

Read previous posts, there both crybabies but last i checked 102 td passes to 42 but yet young's better.

Lot of things factor into accuracy.

Some are coachable (technique). Others, not so much (hand-eye coordination).

Completion percentage can be a little misleading as a measure because you have to factor in receiver performance. Throw in that certain systems (especially the WCO) tend to inflate those numbers. David Carr once had the best completion percentage in the league, but obviously that didn't make him good.

The best way to really measure accuracy is to look at ball placement pass by pass. In that regard, I don't see Newton ever having Manningesque accuracy. More like a pre-surgery Jake Delhomme. Not great, but good enough to win if other factors are in place.

Wait and see. Other QBs with Cam's skill set have failed and some have succeeded. No sense getting mad if people do not agree with you. There are points to be made on both sides. It is all a calculated risk, and if you think he is a sure thing, your not smart.

john elway only completed 47% of his passes his rookie year

dan marino hovered around 60% for his career and had several seasons with 20 or more ints

for rookie qbs, only joe montana set the world on fire

I understand and agree with your post overall, but need to set the record straight regarding Montana's and Marino's rookie years.

In Marino's rookie year, he started 9 games, threw for 2210 yards, 58.4%, 20 td's vs 6 ints, with a QB rating of 96. Montana only started one game and didn't throw 20+ TD's until his 5th season.

Marino's rookie year was almost certainly the best by a rookie all-time.

yeah at first I thought he was you, then I was like...wait.

EDIT: title is double negative and i got your name mixed with his...frick.

I don't have an avatar and if I did, I would not use my QB's mug shot from a college arrest. I did not want Cam, but since he is a Panther, I am not going to try to discredit him in any way.

I don't know how you can say VY is "more of a winner" than Cutler... yes he may have a better regular season record, but Cutler has at least won a playoff game...

both VY and Cutler bring very different things to a team, but they both can win games given the right situation. Given VY's recent history, I wouldn't want him near my team just yet, but hopefully he can get his feet under him and show that he has managed his previous issues and is back on the road to success.

see...you can disagree with someone without throwing or assuming the race card has been thrown.

at any rate...VY has played in less games, but pretty close to the same amount of 4th quarter comebacks or game winning drives, esp considering the opportunities.

VY has just seemed to be more of a guy you can rely on in clutch situations in the game. cutler seems to blow them more.

i guess i thats what you are looking for, your going to find it.

whatever...good decision for you to put him on ignore if you assume that every post he makes is about it. in this case ignorance is bliss, i suppose.

its more of being clutch and being able to make things happen. cutler has never seemed to be "that guy".

As a high school quarterback yes, as a NFL quarterback no. After college you either have it or you don't, this is like speed, it isn't something you can really work on.

When you say develop accuracy I believe it is more of the offensive scheme molding to what you're good at, not you becoming more accurate. Did you see Rodgers throw those darts last night? Newton will never be able to do that but if we give him the right scheme it will seem as if his accuracy has improved.

Read Bree's scouting report going into the NFL draft, Weakness > accuracy.... @_@ do what???

Young is better than Cutler, and a lot tougher too. So it wasnt surprising he was drafted ahead of him. Cutler is a fantastic passer with a cannon arm. He also has underrated mobility that I like and can scramble and make plays. He also puts up a lot of INTs and gets sacked a lot which hurts his football team. The guy just isnt a winner. If you like to win, then VY is your guy. He finds ways to get crucial 3rd downs, he can scramble, he can pass in the clutch. VY gets criticized and beat up for wanting to go back in the game, Cutler gets slammed for wanting to come out of it. Cutler would be sitting behind Vick & VY in Philly.

You gotta be kidding me. Young could turn out better than Cutler, but with his mental issues and what not lead me to believe the guy will be a bench rider the rest of his career. Cutler has more than 1 up on Young right now.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
