Why do some of these experts think Cam can't develop accuracy....

Your title is confusing (double negative). However, we all hope he becomes accurate. Nobody knows. Jack of All Trades hit it on the head, if you ask me.

yeah at first I thought he was you, then I was like...wait.

EDIT: title is double negative and i got your name mixed with his...frick.

But....Vick is a much better QB now. Before, with ATL, he was more of an athlete than a QB. He could make plays that other QBs couldn't, but he couldn't make plays that QBs could. Now, he's shifted into more of a QB mentality, and he's a better player.

Cam will (hopefully) develop this. Lose the playground mentality, and start playing pro ball. Maybe this week, maybe next, somebody is gonna hit Cam hard. He's gonna get pissed, and start throwing hard. No more throwing off the back foot, he'll start leaning into the throws. And those will be caught. Remember the Bears game 2-3 years ago- we weren't doing crap, and then they got a late hit on Jake while he was down. He got up pissed. And he whipped dat ass the rest of the game.

Also Reeves nor Mora never really worked with Vick to become a better QB. I really don't think the Panthers will do that with Cam, they want a QB that runs from time to time not the other way around.

Not directed at you but towards that line of "reasoning"...

Of course guys like Joe Montana, Steve Young, Dan Marino, and Tom Brady came out of the womb throwing footballs through the middle of tires 30 yards away.

My take? Cam IS accurate, as someone else said, it's a matter of getting reps and getting his accuracy to be consistent. He's made some throws in the preseason that only ELITE QBs make, he just has to make those throws regularly.

I believe he will... He's gonna be really good.

Any replays of those? Serious question, I really would like to see them because I haven't been able to watch most of the games.

as long as you have some strength, mobility, decent eyesight, and an ability to learn, you can improve accuracy...esp. if the guy is young.

silliness to think otherwise.

Yes, young as in high school and early college. You don't get enough time to improve accuracy in the NFL. Two years, three tops and you're out. When you're out you don't get the game speed experience and you'll never catch up.

Remember how Cam had a hard time hitting guys on an out route at the combine?

He can hit that throw blindfolded now... it was the result of poor footwork.

He still has a long way to go with his footwork, but he's come a long way. No reason he won't continue to improve his footwork which means his accuracy will continue to improve as well.

wrong. you still have the ability to become more accurate.

it isn't some switch that turns off once you get into the pros.

I’ve heard some “experts” say you can’t really develop accuracy. You either have it or you don’t…I think Meril Hodge said that but I don’t trust him anyway.

LOL, you can't teach Arm Stregth. Accuracy can be Improved. Mike Shula will take care of that, so will Cam. It will just take some time. His back foot throws might always be there though. But stepping into the throw and throwing mechanics can be taught and learned. I'm not worried about Cam not becoming more accurate. I'm worried about the time frame it will take him to learn do be more accurate.

Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady have all improved their accuracy as pros over their college years. And there are several QBs I see in a quick look at ProFootballReference.com who improved their accuracy a lot after their first couple of years in the league.

This is kind of a silly argument to have.

They didn't improve their accuracy, they became comfortable in the NFL. The accurate quarterbacks were accurate from day one.

I'm not bashing Cam, I want him to succeed. He is a great athlete and has every skill to be our franchise quarterback. What he does not have is the pin point accuracy of people like Brees, Manning, and Brady. Maybe I have a different definition of accuracy than some of the other posters on the board.
