I've always just been meh-ish about Godfrey.

Didn't think he was a bad player, you just never heard from him, never heard about him, so I just kinda thought he was there for the sake of being there.

But all the accolades from Rivera, JR, and now even the whole team about his leadership, well I'm blown away. I can't believe it. But glad to hear it. We need that kind of veteran leadership from the young guys, especially on defense.

Right... but he didn't get a 5 year extension.

I'll trust Riveras judgement on this, he has overall to me looked average, but a lot of that was a bad season in general helping cover for Marshall. He can get to the ball, his tackling is what worries me.

Not a lot of great Safeties in the NFL today. The few elite ones get paid great cash. If Rivera thinks he will be elite, better to pay him now on the cheap
