A few notes and points before we face the angry birds on sunday

Sadly, whatever schemes we run, we do so with personnel that are largely unproven at all but one level of the defense (linebacker, and even there we've got injury issues).

True, but the Chargers on the defensive side of the ball weren't exactly household names in 2010. But were #1 in yards allowed and top 10 in points allowed.

I like what the future has in store for this franchise.

Tht's kind of what you have to hope for here.

What's frustrated me in the past is knowing that some of these guys should be better than they've shown. I'd liketo believe Rivera can fix that.

Absolutely, whether it being the ability to coach a player up or simply put them into, or make adjustments to put them into a position to succeed on Sundays.

Our first pick this April tells you this organization believes they can, and will put our players in position to succeed this season and on into the future.

I agree with those who feel we've got a shot, but realistically expect a loss.

Arizona is our best shot at getting this season off to a good start. We might be able to build something. Not suggesting we beat GB, but if Cam does have a special game (which is possible on any given Sunday, which is what I like about him) vs. Arizona, suddenly our games against Jax, Chi, and Wash look like better matchups. It's already been mentioned how suspect the Saints D looks and Atlanta may not be quite as good as last year either.

I'm just saying. Stranger things have happened. I'd love to see Cam take over this game like he did last year with Auburn. It would be awesome if the story after this game was how Cam outplayed Kolb.

I don't really buy that we have any real advantage in the game, plus being on the road, we have that going against us too.

I am holding out hope for a good game. I'm not confident we will hasve one. But I'll hold onto that hope till at least until 4:15 tomorrow.

cause the game will be over at 4:15?

realistically the game could go either way. cards aren't anything special. their D is weak and they are about as one dimensional on offense as you can get. if you shut down fitz, you've shut them down. that is essentially the key, and it can be done.

i don't know about a comparison to clausen, but a comparison to matt moore has always been appropriate, imo. just an average at best QB that had the luxury of playing in a very pass friendly system that pads QB stats.

when given the start, he failed to excite anyone and was benched.
