Panthers Scouting Pat White hard

I understand, but Slash, (Kordell Stewart) wasn't a bad passer and the same thing happened to him...

Again, I'll say I'd welcome him, but just like Brady Quinn two years ago, I have major, major doubts of him becoming a successful QB in Carolina...

Yeah Kordell just didn't remain consistent...I was thinking more along the lines of like a Randle El type of player except he runs, catches and passes. Kinda like the baseball version of Bugs Bunny...JK

i agree. IMO pat white is a great college player. but i do not think he will be that good in the nfl. i think hes got bust writen all over him. but if we do draft for him ill pull for him. and ill hope and pray he proves me wrong

I say we give the man a shot. He has looked great recently. The bowl game he played in, he was completely dominating through the air...and its not like he was passing to his first read every time. I think that a year behind a developed QB (Delhomme) would do him some good. Besides we do have a new QB coach that is notorious for grooming young QB's.

I will to, I will exactly. When a player becomes a Panther, he becomes one of my favorite players and I'll always pull for him. IMO, White is going to be better in the NFL at RB, WR, S, the guy has great talent and speed, but he doesn't even want to entertain the notion...

The same people who say Pat White will never be an NFL QB probably would've told Steve Smith he'd never be a starting WR in this league. He's too small. He's not big enough. Defenses are too fast and strong and will tear him in two. After the shitty performance our current QB had last year we shouldnt be so quick to write off anyone.

Never said anything of the kind KT. I simply said his style of play is not conducive to the NFL, (with the possible exception that he could flourish in a West Coast offense and we don't play that). And it's not his fault, I blame Rich Rodriquez for that. Some coaches in college play the game to win at all costs at that level and forget that their players might have a career beyond. Steve Spurrier is another one of those coaches.

I'm just as sure The Golden Calf of Bristol will never be more than a backup, he doesn't know how to play the game on the NFL level and teams are not going to be patient enough to develop him although he will get a big contract. That happens when you win two national championships, doesn't mean you will be good in the NFL.

QBs that play a pro-style system in college can come in and develop within the time frame. Ones that don't can rarely develop in that time frame. I can't put it any simpler than that. He may be the exception to the rule, but black, white, green or blue, I don't think that's possible, IMO...

I think it is going to be the other way around. I think the pro-style system will be going into a flux over the next few years. You will start seeing alot more team going to to spread offense that WVU ran.
