Panthers Scouting Pat White hard

Wyche also reports that 25 NFL teams were represented at the West Virginia Pro Day. We personally spotted Steelers coach Mike Tomlin (who apparently always attends the WVU Pro Day, given its proximity to Pittsburgh), Bears director of college scouting Greg Gabriel, and scouts sporting the colors and logos of the Chiefs, Panthers, Packers, Vikings, Bills, Packers, Raiders, 49ers, Eagles, Giants, Ravens, Bills, and Jets.

The Panthers had two or three guys who were keeping a close eye on White as he threw passes.

I've been wondering about this guy. I didn't watch any of the WV games but Mayock was saying good things about him in the combine. Even though he is smallish he seems to be (and I hate to use the phrase) a slash kinda player. QB, WR, etc. We all know what kind of asset a jack-of-all-trades can be. I wouldn't mind some tricks here and there like the Steelers used to pull with Randle El.

you know i have even talked to people that say they do not want him because he is black..lol these people are not even racist they just feel black QBs can not be good players..just crazy

but if we take white i want it as QB not a QB/WR.just to prove the people wrong

You're just inviting one of Taharqua's rants...

White is no way the same as Vick.

There's no doubt that his style is similar, I do think he's a much better passer, but there's no doubt that his style is similar and that formula hasn't worked in the NFL in anything other than a West Coast offense, which we do not and will not run, (and why Vick wasn't successful as in Superstar). The slasher style just doesn't work, the defenses in the NFL are too fast.

And I very much resent someone pulling out the race card, that's so insulting I am boiling mad...

That being said, if we draft him, I'll welcome him with open arms...

Vick wasn't successful cause he couldn't pass for ish. He just lobbed it to Crumpler. Since Crumpler has been with Tenn. he dropped off the football planet. Just sayin'...

I understand, but Slash, (Kordell Stewart) wasn't a bad passer and the same thing happened to him...

Again, I'll say I'd welcome him, but just like Brady Quinn two years ago, I have major, major doubts of him becoming a successful QB in Carolina...
