Would just like to note as I've said a few times before, contrary to some asinine idea by a group of fan's our front office actually knows what they are doing and trust me if we think they have a weakness on the team, they've known 2 weeks before you ever thought about it.

Also don't listen to what Hurney will say about the team, they aren't going to say anything that might cost them in ticket sales, so yeah he was saying we are fine at CB just a few days ago but trust me he wasn't thinking that, and this move is all the proof you need of that.

He was a second round pick and given the chance to be a starter. They had no decent cornerbacks behind Mcourty and he still managed to get benched by a below average journeyman Cb. No Patriot fans seems to be upset.

He's young enough to turn things around, but I wouldn't bet on it.

James Harrison was cut 3 times by the Steelers and was even in NFL Europe before he turned into the monster he is today. Wes Welker, Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme... there are plenty of guys who were cut by a team and found success with a change of scenery. I'm sick of the "they were cut so they must suck" mentality. Clearly not always the case... Give him a chance

you have got way more to lose when you are desperate for a CB if you pass on him than if you claim him off waivers...

I would rather have had us pick up an experienced #1 Cb this offseason in FA but that isn't the route we ended up on, so at this point we're desperate... and Butler is unquestionably better than our #3 and on CBs, so he was a good pickup even if Captain picks up his game and Butler never makes it to #2 this season.

Well, as a UConn fan, I was mad that we dropped McClain. BUT we followed it right up by picking up another former Husky CB.

Still mad we dropped McClain, though. He's better than Stanford.
