David Garrard Anyone?

I think Andersen showed enough in that last pre-season game to cement him as a capable back up for us. Cam is the starter and bringing in Garrard at this point in the season does very little to help this team.

Always like Garrard. he will be a backup somewhere this year and will probably find a starting gig in 2012.

While I would love to see him come here, it's not going to happen for a number of reasons.

1. We are in the middle of cuts and have 3 QBs on the roster. There is no way in hell we add a 4th now.

2. Cam is our future.

3. Derek Anderson has ties to Chud. They are buds. He isn't going anywhere.

4. Clausen is a Hurney pick. They get multiple years of trying before being set loose. I'm willing to bet Clausen will be on this roster through 2012.

IF... and this is a big if... Clausen got waived, Garrard might have a chance here. But there are so many teams that could use a starter like him... I doubt we will pay him.

Listen, I know there are about 6 NFL teams who are desperate for a starting QB. But I just... I really feel like I want to go be the back up on this 2-14 expansion team and listen to racist comments from a third of their fanbase.

If Garrard was signed, he would start once he got familiar with the system. Garrard can still play ball, and at least lead a team (not the Panthers) to anywhere from 8 to 10 wins.

What a silly response and argument, our LB core is stacked. Your point is moot.

Are you seriously saying our QB core is stacked? Because it's not. Consists of 1 rookie that hasn't done anything yet, 1 2nd year guy that is useless and one pro-bowl guy that hasn't done anything since the pro bowl.

Adding depth is not a bad thing at a position that isn't a strength..
