We would be more competative how??? He was going to have 45 sacks and score 13 td right.

Amzaing how these folks are either bandwagon Cam fans or either too young to remember the '95 and '96 Panthers. We had almost no talent on the offense back then, but managed to win ball games with a nasty defense. Hurney is so damn gun shy about being the anti-Fox now that offense was the priority and screw the defense. He was going to get by on re-singing our guys-- LB corps and patch work the rest. Now we got a rookie QB and a defense that resembles Swiss cheese. Sell those tickets!!!!

You ###### we had Collins with Steve B as a backup at QB a good Oline a solid running game with Ant at RB and WR like Green and Moose was the 3rd wr.

We also were a 3-4 team so DT weren't really great IMO. Plus this isn't 1995 or 96. Rules have change the league. If you don't have a QB you can't win.

Collins? Okay and Anothy Johnson. Green and Carrier. Listing Pro Bowlers. Hell, Walls was a reject by other teams and our best offensive player. Rules have changed? None that really matter outside of the 5-yard contact rule. Yup, totally different game, might as well called it rugby back then.

Did back then too, however, QBs are more focused on and scutinized harder today. I get what all the fuss is over. We've never been an offense first team. I feel that in rush to fill that mold, Hurney screwed up by not fixing the D-line. Marty didn't hesitate to patch that O-line up in a hurry, did he? Amazing how he'll get TWO starting calibre guards off waivers, but brings in turtle drippings to patch the D-line.
