By then Pilares will be back, and TuTu will be fully integrated into the system, and he is much more promising than Nanee, who has been completely invisible this preseason.

I don't think Jake was a great player, but great things happened when he was leading the offense. Looking back at the first 15 years of Panther football, he is probably the face of the franchise. Was he worthy of retiring a jersey? I would say not. However, I feel the same way. There is something wrong about this.

Maybe they should adopt a policy where you retire jersey numbers for 10 years, 20 years, and forever. I can see Moose's jersey being off limits for 10 years. Mike Minter's 30 is another example. Not a HOF candidate, but he deserved respect because he embodied the panther image so well for so long.

Jake posted an MVP-worthy performance in SB 38, the only SB for our young franchise... I think that makes him worthy of having his jersey retired.
