Smitty got HIMSELF suspended...period...even in light of Fiz's story. Luc may have been 100% wrong to say the stuff he did, but words alone don't ever justify physical violence.

Lucas was a good player, just miscast in the "bend don't break" scheme that Trgovac favored.

Worth noting that he could have torn the locker room apart this past season if he hadn't acted classy.

No, why would I? What possible effect would ONLY words have that would need to be met by fists? I have gotten socked in the jaw before on the school bus in my younger years and that was for a verbal fight I was having. I would definitely have socked the kid back to DEFEND MYSELF (like Luc did) but it was my stop right after that.

A guy once told me he was going to go rape my sister while she was in the hospital with a serious illness, which prompted me to beat him within an inch of his life and go to jail for a short while because of it. Those words were plenty to put me over the edge, and I consider myself a pretty laid-back person. So yes, words can do a lot.

And did Ken Lucas even get a single punch in during that fight? I think Smitty pretty much did all of the hitting. I think Beason hurt Smitty more pulling him off than Lucas did during the whole fray. Not that I condone that sort of thing.
