Me too, I am a big Hogan fan right now. I think he was expected to be ready to play by week 3. I don't know the rules of him being a PUP player but I believe he was expected to be ready to play early in the season. The problem with that is he hasn't played a preseason game and didn't play in training camp so the guy still needs to learn our system as well as the NFL level of play. It all depends on how quick this guy can learn weather or not he will be our #2 or 3 Cb. He could very well become our #2 CB with the players in front of him.

A day later, they signed Keyshawn Johnson.

What Hurney doesn't say is often as important as what he says.

That makes me sad for how long we've been trying to find someone to play across from Smitty.

We may have to break down and use our first pick next year.

My biggest problem with our CB situation is that we have a LOT of guys that can play the Nickel and none that should be lining up FT as the #2 (unless the Thomas pick-up from Dallas really develops well). I love Captain and think he is an awesome player. IMO, he's an elite level nickel and can fill-in as your #2 and perform well, but he will have problems with bigger receivers. As will most of our backups.

If we don't get someone in the next few days, Arizona is going to get ugly quick.

I just don't see how Hogan could be our #2 (at least this year). A rookie who misses training camp, pre-season, and most likely half of the regular season due to injury won't be able to step in right away and be effective.

I seriously think Will Allen or Lito is still on the table, and you're right - I think they're holding off until after week 1 because both guys have had injury problems and they don't want to sign them to a guaranteed contract.

Just my personal opinion, but I think it makes sense.

Of course he's saying he likes what we have. That doesn't mean he intends to do nothing about our lack of depth. For me, finding a new starting CB at this point in the season is difficult and risky. Try to pick up some servicable talent for depth and work on improving the DL with all the $$$ you got! OL too.

We will get more bang for the buck spending that money on improving in the trenches.

Even Asante Samuel needs the DL to do their job. Picking up a big name vet is no substitute for quality depth on the lines.

bravo hurney for not caving in to the ridiculous demands teams(specifically the eagles) are probably asking. we'll need that mid-30's 2nd round pick next year.
