I think Otah has gotten a lot of leniency. He's been out for sooo long. But we are a different team without the guy. But at the same time you can't miss that much time either. We needs a guy that won't be out this long. Who knows if his knee will be fine now. I guess time will tell.

But to stay on topic with the thread, i like Matt Kalil i think him or the dude from Stanford are definitely franchise LTs. Kalil seems like he has Joe Thomas potential.

Well, Otah is still young. Gross isn't. In 2 or 3 years Otah could go back to RT with Kalil at LT and we'd be set up for a while. In the meanwhile, Otah moving to G could be a good way to get the best players on the field at the same time.

If we do have the opportunity to get Kalil we will. I honestly don't see us being that high in the draft though.

One thing I'm worried about with Kalil, is that his stock may be driven higher than it should be because his bro is very successful in the NFL. Happens a lot in the NFL(see: Mike Pouncey being drafted #15 overall).

I'm going to hold off on my opinion until I watch more USC games(in the limited games I've seen I've been somewhat impressed with him, but not sure about top 5 overall impressed).

I would love to get Kalil, but like others have said I doubt we're picking high enough. I see us picking around 10th, and either trading down or grabbing OLB or CB.

No, you take Blackmon or Jeffrey at WR. To much of an impact over an O lineman to pass up on and eventual replacement for Steve Smith. The O line can be upgraded later in the draft.

Yeah and Steve Smith doesnt have any impacted on the team either, i mean if he goes down we would be perfectly fine at receiver right? Look, at the end of the day we would be getting a great player im sure, its just all about who makes a bigger impact to me its still early in the season so who knows what we will need. But its know more a guarantee were gonna draft a OL first than a WR. Up in the air.

I just don't see us drafting Kalil. We have two good Tackles. They really like Byron Bell, who played well sunday against Clay Matthews, and Kalil doesn't have the size to move inside.

Just don't see it.

If we don't draft Kalil, there's another good prospect in Jonathan Martin, left tackle for Stanford.
