Exactly. Be cause you have to put a lot of trust into guys that you aren't around all the time. You can only hope they are working hard and are doing what you want them to do.

That's true, you didn't say that you liked how the team was being run, just that you like the GM.

I am saying that I don't like how the team has been run, and I don't like the GM. Hopefully this season and next will change my mind.

not to defend hurney per se but almost every player drafted or signed had fox's seal of approval. hurney does what most gm's should do & that is to draft & sign players that the head coach & staff feel fit their system the best, fox felt he could win with a average qb with a ball control offense & good defense. rivera seems to want hard nosed players who give max effort all the time & feels he needs a franchise qb to win regular basis

Just like Edwards, think that #2 pick didn't loom large this year?

That could have totally changed the look of this franchise. We could have gone for a stud DT or CB...we could have gone for Andy Dalton later as an example.

I'm not trying to play a shoulda, woulda, coulda game but, one day, someone needs to say to Hurney:

1. stop trading up

2. stop drafing a safety to make him a linebacker.

Brown was a desperation move, pure and simple.

Just be glad there were no takers for his 'trade up to get Clausen in the 2nd'.

Imagine if we still would have had our first rounder to begin with and we took Clausen in the first round since he fell out the top 5. Hurney would be hangin on to his job by his teeth.
