granted i'd switch the psu out for at least 650w (70 bux or so) and slap in a radeon 6770 (120$) to bring the price up to 740$

but even without those, that tower would stomp the guts out of any console and crank out games for the next 2-3 years

asus is a solid manufacturer as well, i'd have no compunctions about buying recertified

still like the console multiplayer experience/communtiy opposed to the comp. Prob just biased because most comp gamers I know (some of my friends) are "game snobs" even though I could care less(not an insult to anyone here whos a pc gamer). Just raised on consoles and I will stay that way for a while, although I do play some rpgs/fps on comp. Never really experienced lag on consoles and usually find better competition on consoles as I am always one of the best people playing cod that I come across.

Go ahead an rattle off comp specs, my brother has a top of the line gaming comp and its cool but I still don't see the point. Would rather be able to throw my xbox in a bag with only 2 connections and bring it to my buddys house so we can link or whatever or whenever I have to move.

Back on topic, MW3 sounds great already. haters gonna hate and just call people who like it fanboys, but until anything else proves its better multiplayer they can sthu. Maybe the new battlefield willl be good, but they are always hyped and rarely deliver.

steam is a far superior community experience to xbox live and xbox live is a far superior experience to whatever garbage ps3 offers

no, 740$ would run games for the next 6-8 years. next gen consoles won't even have that much power

and you're giving up on the hard drive space and capabilities of a pc as well

how much were 360s and ps3s when they first came out again with their 20gb hds?

and when i'm talking about running games, its top end settings i'm talking about, with the exception of possibly 16x AA and filtering. that pc would limp along running games at low end specs with no upgrades for the next 8-10 years and still have graphics comparable to any console

mite have to lower those back to 8x but you won't know the difference anyway

I love RTS games. I don't care what blind fanboys say, they are almost unplayable on console. (see reviews for Halo Wars... where the score was increased by 400% just for having the word "Halo" in the title)

Other than RTS, there really aren't many genres that I enjoy on PC. Shooters can be fun on PC/Mac, but my preference is sitting back with a controller and pulling a trigger.

PS3 could when it was first released. I'm guessing some updates disabled it by now.

Shadow Run was cross platform (Windows and 360). It had some elements that reminded me of Counter Strike. Overall - I didn't really enjoy it.
