Gabbert now #3 on Jags depth chart

I know a great deal about Gabbert, probably more than all but a couple posters on this board, since there are a couple other Missouri fans. I've seen him play a dozen games over his college career and I watched highlights of many more, and I've been following Mizzou for five or so years now pretty closely. The "glorified Clausen" bit is funny, since it's totally incorrect... but without knowing what exactly you are referring to it's hard to really comment on. I can tell you this: Gabbert has all the tools to become a great quarterback, but he needs time to develop. I felt the same way about pretty much every quarterback in this draft class, so hey...

You're making a big deal about Aaron Rodgers, but nobody mentioned his JUCO stuff until he started winning, and even then it's used to illustrate how far he has come, the same way people talk about Brady's drafting position. In fact, Aaron Rodgers was considered so raw and unready despite his great time at JUCO and two years in college that he was reportedly awful his rookie year and even if they hadn't have had Favre he wouldn't have started. So, once Cam starts actually winning, people will probably make comments about JUCO getting him on the right path (like they actually did last year during the Heisman stuff). Until then, it hardly matters, and most people won't even bother with it.

edit: as to him being great at Florida or whatever, when you never see the field and basically get kicked out of the school for off the field issues, it's not something people will cite to point out how much experience you have.

Cam was considered a one year wonder because he hit the national stage, had an AMAZING year, and entered the draft. He most certainly did not do anything near what he did at Auburn at Blinn at all... They aren't even in the same stratosphere. Winning the championship was not the only part of the wonder, though obviously it's impressive.
