History not on Newtons side.

Haters no matter what come next Sunday:

If Cam loses: "HE'S TERRIBLE I TOLD YOU GUIZE THAT HE WAS A BUST"

If Cam wins: "HE'S NOW DESTINED TO TURN INTO DAVID CARR"

Difference between David Carr and Cam Newton is that Cam has at least a decent o-line, and can move around the field more. David Carr never had that, and got sacked around a billion times when he was with Houston.

Edit: Also anyone jumping to that type of conclusion after one game is an idiot, and I don't think their opinions mean much, due to it being idiotic.

Well, history in the short term doesn't look that great, but take a look at the list of first round picks for the panthers since existance. Looking at it this way, history looks much more to his advantage.

1995 Kerry Collins (did great at first, had a pro-bowl in 96' then the DUI screwed us)

1995 Tyrone Poole (All Rookie team selection, All Madden Team)

1995 Blake Brockermeyer (All Rookie Team selection)

1996 Tim Biakabutuka

1997 I don't care to say this tool's name, but he was also All Team Rookie Selection

1998 Jason Peter (College and Pro Football Newsweekly All-Rookie Team)

1999 No Pick

2000 Rashard Anderson

2001 Dan Morgan (Made the Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie Team, and was later selected to play in the Pro Bowl in 2004 and 2005)

2002 Julius Peppers (Won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, made several All-Rookie teams, and has been selected to the Pro Bowl in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009.)

2003 Jordon Gross (Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie Team selection, Sports Illustrated All-Pro team[7], and 2009 and 2011 Pro Bowl selection.)

2004 Chris Gamble (Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie Team selection.)

2005 Thomas Davis

2006 DeAngelo Williams

2007 Jon Beason (Pro Football Weekly/PFWA All-Rookie Team)

2008 Jon Stewart

2008 Jeff Otah

2009 No Pick

2010 No Pick

2011 Cam Newton

So, though we had 2 really BIG bust in the 90's all in all we have been extremely successfull with our first rounders. Or atleast they have been key components to our team and when/if they get injured, their absence is felt.

I'm a lot more interested in how he looks week one of next year compared to week one of this one.
fixed. i want to see markable growth.

All things in the past make no difference now, We have Cam. We now have our savior who will lead us to the promised land. How in the hell can you use Cam and lose in the same sentence? Heresy I say heresy.
