Cam's Amazing Stats... Not Kidding

Sure it was only 1 drive and 5 passes but how about the 60% completion rate and passer rating of 112. Seems like a serious improvement over last week. Since we dissect everything to death, how about that one.

Gets ready for the " it was only one drive", "what about against Cincy" and all the other negative remarks.

The only thing that scares me about him running is that most running Qbs get injured a lot because they put themselves in harms way. Now luckily there are a lot of new rules to protect the Qb so the chances of him getting injured aren't as bad as they would be if he was playing ten years ago. I love having a Qb that can scramble when needed and unlike Vick, Cam can run over defenders and will be a lot harder to take down because of his size.
until the oline can keep from being pushed backward into newton, the safest thing he can do is get out of the pocket. oline falling back into him is the biggest risk he has to his safety. he won't be looking for that.

It was only one drive, man. Have you forgotten the Bengals game already?

There are now statements from both the starting defensive lineman of the Giants and the Steelers that suggest Newton is a pain in the ass to sack.

Let's stop worrying about the guy being a paper tiger.

This. When Larry Foote says "I struggled getting him down" then you KNOW the guy has to be a monster. Larry Foote is a strong SOB.

shouldn't just be early in the season. passing game works better coming out of the shotgun. the best passing teams are switching to it and took most of their passing snaps from it last year. i think this year you are going to see most teams use it pretty frequently. panthers won't be special in that regard. what will make them stand out is what cam can do in it as a runner.

I agree it is becoming a shotgun league.....I just think Chud should go heavier than he probably would want to early.

source me those comments.. I have some flaunting to do.

if he can pass the ball like he did last night, and things start clicking with our offense, defenses are going to face a nightmare..

a lot of IFs.. I think we've seen the potential. defenses would have a lot to worry about on each play, causing them to think more than reacting..

Done. Pretty good little write up on the game as a whole. Foote's comment is about halfway or so down the page.

Not talking passing stats here....

Although Cam's passing stats have been far from stellar this preseason and even though his runs have been exciting to watch, they did not seem too out of the ordinary...Right?

According to Elias Sports Bureau:

- Over the last 4 NFL seasons, QB's have run for a TD of 15 yards or longer an average of 4 times per season. (1 in 8,000 plays)

- Last year a QB ran for more than 25 yards only 17 times. (1 in 1,900 plays)

If you take Mike Vick out of the NFL, these odds become exponentially smaller and yet our young rookie QB achieved both of these rare milestones in a mere 15 minutes of game time in his very first start versus the Cincinnati Bengals. (statistically speaking this should happen about 1 in 12,222 games... about once every 48 years)

When he has the ability to run on teams like he has shown in the preseason it is really going to open up the field for him and take pressure off of other positions. I am not saying the stats prove anything like Cam is going to run for 2,000 yards this year and I am not trying to convince you that he will be the best running quarterback of all time, but I think a lot of fans get caught up with his poor passing play thus far and forget how special this guy is.

Is he a QUARTERBACK or a Running back? If he is a QB then passing stats are all that matters.

I think right now we are still at the stage of learning what defenses are going to throw at him. These first 2, 3, or 4 games are going to be crazy to watch as defenses try to get a beat on how to handle us. Is Chud going to be a reactive type of OC or a pro-active "strike first" type of OC with the current talent he has (assets and liabilities both considered)? I will be interested to know if we turn out to be counter punchers as opposed to brawlers when this offense finally gels together. . . however long that takes.

Not true at all. Passing stats are all that matter for players who play QB and can't run. You can't ignore what a Mike Vick does on the ground. I mean really, what you just claimed makes no sense.

They are football players. That would be like saying you can only pay attention to what a running back does as a rusher and what he does from a rec standpoint should be ignored.

Defenses also can't ignore what a Mike Vick does on the ground..

Cam has proven to be a QB 1st, Run 2nd.. I'm good with that.

yeah, funny a Panther fan who watched Vick abuse us would say what he does as a runner doesn't matter.

He not only beat us but impacted how we built our roster and drafted.

Doesn't matter? Thomas Davis likely would never of been our roster if Mike Vick never existed.

    • That will be an often advanced theory touching on some trait. I beg to differ. I kept trying to change to meet this standards. I fell short my goals this month. That inference could help you live better. As a matter of course, that's another instance. Amazing, simply amazing. I practically need to reevaluate that run-of-the-mill significance. It is based on a true story. In point of fact, I can be incorrect, but you should know this concerning this increase.    Official Website ==> https://www.blockxtrade.com/oil-profit-reviews/   Related Articles   https://oilprofit.mywebselfsite.net/ https://oilprofitreviews.square.site/ https://oilprofit.godaddysites.com/ https://oilprofitreviews.mystrikingly.com/ https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/oil-profit-reviews https://heylink.me/oilprofit https://bento.me/oilprofit https://oilprofit.weebly.com/ https://oilprofit.jimdosite.com/
