Hurney: Pilares Most Likely Not Going On IR

And I assume this means he makes the team as well despite the injury. Good. He was my "underdog to make a big impact" nominee this year after we drafted him...

GM Marty Hurney said after the game he doesn't expect that rookie WR Kealoha Pilares will have to go on injured reserve. He is out 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain, although Pilares thinks he'll be ready before that.

Good?

I like Pilares a lot, but 4-6 weeks at a position of need could hurt.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but with Olsen, I think they feel we have flexibility to get us by until they shore it up... I think Pilares will make it regardless, but this also could have a lot to do with who they anticipate will be available after Saturday.

sweet he'll just suck up a roster spot while nursing that high ankle sprain and eventually be ir'd in like week 10 like otah was last year.

I hope not- that was a total failure on the coaching staff and front office last year with Otah.

Unless they really believe the kid is going to make a significant contribution this year, I don't understand why they don't IR him if he's going to miss at least a quarter of the season.
