This the most promising QB in Panthers history since youtube and image capture made it really easy to watch every single one of his throws.

If you'd been able to easily hook up your television to your computer 8 years ago I guarantee we'd all be watching week 2 against the Bucs going "holy poo this delhomme guy sucks."

Right after the draft I said if anybody wanted to jump ship and couldnt imagine getting behind Newt, now is your chance, no one will look down on you. Why didnt you jump ship then? Think about it, if you become one of our rival fans or root for another team you can trash our QB all you want with impunity. Its gonna be hard being a Panther fan and having this aversion to anything positive being said about him. It wont work. Root for another team, its the only way.

I will stop with critism as soon as the bandwagon stops drooling over every mediocre play he does. First REAL decent drive all preseason, gets names the starter and the huggers go grab the lotion bottle for ten seconds.

Truth is that Newton has exceeded all expectations, silenced all the legitimate criticisms of his character, work ethic, ability to learn quickly, read defenses, etc. He has gone from an extreme project to a decent looking rookie quarterback who could actually do some decent work this year.

The Panthers have finally done what most of us have clamored for years which is invest a number 1 pick in a franchise quarterback. Newton has done everything asked of him and he has invigorated the franchise and fans for the first time since 2008.

If you don't like the attention and excitement right now, so be it. You have every right to say and do what you want. Enjoy it out there while the rest of us enjoy the ride. For better or worse we are on this train. One that I have personally been waiting for years. But don't even suggest you are a counterbalance to the folks excited about newton and this team. You and your small crowd are now the proud members of the lunatic fringe. With each success and improvement he makes you will become even more irrelevant than you are right now.

I've stood behind EVERY QB in this franchises history, which means I stood behind some bad QBs and a couple of decent ones. What's your point? Just because I see a guy that's not ready, I have to jump ship. No buddy, it doesn't work that way. I call it the way I see it. Cam may turn out and maybe not. I am waiting to see. Cool with me. Uh, bashing him because he's not ready isn't bashing by the way, it's telling the truth. For that matter, I could have cared less about the lap top and never heard a whole lot about a bad work ethic. Those are irrelevant to me. The learning quickly and reading defenses remain to be seen because he is not reading coverages well and I doubt he knows even the majority of the play book. Speculation on your part.

So we have a rookie quarterback still playing in the preseason after little or no practice and we are whining that instead of running 19 yards for a first down on third down he should have thrown the ball to Smith. You folks are amazing. Should we expect this kind of criticsm with every pass or throw he makes for the next 16 games. I sure hope not. I would rather talk about how much better his decisionmaking is becoming in such a short time or how he he has improved day by day. This offense is exciting for the first time in years.

I will support him, but I can also be a realist. Get the difference? I don't think you do. Did you ever criticize any of our QBs in the past? If so, you are not a real fan. Catch my drift? Your point is straight up asinine. I've been pissed before with drafts and I still support the players, the team as well.
