Bo Jackson on Cam Newton

It's quiet simple, now you have to say Cam Newton instead of Chuck Norris.

This is unbelievable but, Cam Newton > Chuck Norris!

Not so fast. Chuck Norris has already intercepted Cam Newton's first regular season pass and returned it for a TD.

Newton is definitely not Mike Vick fast, but he's bigger and his strides cover more ground. Bigger means there's more to grab onto and tackle, but also means he's stronger and more able to pull away. Wash there. Daunte Culpepper is a way better comparison for me, though happily Newton is better at protecting the ball. For pure athleticism and running, overall Vick is probably more dangerous.

As a passer, I think you have to give the edge to Newton, and down the road quite possibly a significant edge. He can see the field better than Vick will ever be able to, and his pass distribution is far superior to where Vick's was at this stage in his career (largely because Alge Crumpler was the only guy Vick could consistently see over the line).

More importantly in regards to size, Cam is less likely to get injured or at least thats what I hope since its hard to know with injuries. But Vick is definitely more injury prone with his small frame compared to Cam.

My hope as well, though it's early yet.

I do think Newton is playing smarter football than Vick did his rookie year.
