Panther/Steelers game time thread

Most of the people around here who didn't want him are Panthers fans...

I doubt that. I see very few of those posters around here anymore if at all since the draft. And the few left never post when we look good, only when we look bad. Cant call that a "fan". Anybody can log on a computer and claim to be a Panther fan, doesnt make them one. If support is "conditional", its not true support. Everyone I talk to on the street and fans of other teams have offered nothing but praise and optimism about our new QB. You cant be a "fan" of something you're constantly looking to tear down.

You mean like passing to a WR and watch the play develop? You have alot of valid points, but on this you are wrong and nobody likes a smart ass.

I'm a smartass to the core, you'll have to get over it.

He's watching multiple things, not studying WR technique and mechanics.

By your logic great QB's, particularly those with a lot (notice that's two words) attempts should be good WR's by default and that's just ludicrous.

I can't speak to the people who have stopped posting, because I haven't noticed any big names stop posting since the draft.

I support Cam, though I recognize he isn't perfect which gets me some poo... but I am liking the work he's putting in and I hope for the best out of him. I wish we were handling the QB situation a bit differently, but hey, I'm not always right and I hope I'm wrong on starting a rookie on this team.

All that aside, I don't think you need to be a fan of every player on the team in order to be a fan of the team.

Most of the people who didn't want Cam thought we'd be better if we had used the pick on someone else, it wasn't that they hated Cam. Some of us just aren't as enamored with him, though I don't know of any fan who posts on this board that has said they want him to fail.

So since he handed the ball off and saw where the gaps where and knew where pressure was coming he should be able to play RB too?

Your logic is stupid as hell, you know what your spose to do but doing it and watching someone do it is completely different.

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.

    • Ah, the ol Cam Newton hating.  I will give you credit, the week of pretending to be a Daniel Jones super fan is a very clever way to disguise your hatred of Cam.
