The funny thing is Lucas has made money off of the hate of his changes tot he originals. He sold a hell of a lot of "Han shot first!" merchandise.

It was a turning point... where he finally controlled his anger, and his rage, and defended his family, and the galaxy from the dark side.

People have been saying FU to Lucas since the Ewoks appeared and the story as to why Lucas went with them. Then when it was discovered how dissappointed he was with Kershner's directing of Empire because it was too dark, the FU's were magnified.

This new development is not surprising and fans have come to expect it of Lucas. A man who gets wayyy too much credit because the entire series could have been twice as good if he sat on the sidelines for all of it.
