The point is, CJ touches the ball more than any back in the league. He SHOULD have the most yards since 2008. But if he's not ripping the big runs, he's average at best. I remember watching a game where he had a 75 yard TD run. Finished the game with damn near 40 carries and 175 yards (or something near that) with 2 TDs. Not that impressive.

He will fall apart. He won't last through his contract. Just too many carries for such a small back.

To say Deangelo isn't in CJ's class...lol

EDIT: Found it. Last season, 27 carries, 142 yards, 2 TD, 76 yard long. Take away that 76 yarder and he did pooty. Which proves he is ONLY a big play threat (like a Devin Hester). He got over-payed for what he is.

Also, last season, 32 carries, 125 yards, 3.9 YPC, 2 TDs, 42 yard long. Not impressive. Sorry.

Wow...you really believe that don't you?

I am not arguing that he will most likely fall apart before the end of his contract but most backs do. Tell me how DeAngelo will hold up in his new contract? Hopefully better than he did in his first.

I believe it and stats support it. 4.3 yards a carry last season. 4.3 is not worthy of $53 million with $30 guaranteed. The 2008 season was an anomaly at best. He didn't have as many big runs last year because he didn't catch teams off guard. If he isn't ripping the big one on 1st and long (especially last season) then he was getting 2-4 yards. He's not an elite back, sorry. If you can't get me at least 4 yards damn near guaranteed when I NEED it (2nd and 3rd down with 3-4 yards to go), get the fug out. CJ is good for the big play. He's damn good for it. But outside of that, he does nothing special worthy of the money he got.

I agree he should have been paid. But not much more than Deangelo. He more than doubled Deangelo solely based on 1 great year. 1.

Wouldn't say it is an anomaly, since he has consistently averaged 5.0 ypc+ every season as a starter. CJ has been explosive. You can't bring up the pro-bowls, because that is just flashy-votes and popularity. CJ is flashy. Hence, the pro-bowls.

2,000 yards is impressive. And he had a hell of a year. I DO THINK he should be paid for it. Hell, I am not even opposed to him being the highest paid RB in the NFL. But the money he received is TOO much. Just saying. Unless he does it (2,000 yards+) again, the Titans lost out on this one. Just my opinion.

Me too, but that isn't the point. The point is, is he worth the $53 million, $30 million guaranteed he is getting? IMO, hell no. $30 million with $14 million guaranteed, more like it.

To further break it down, the $14 million in guarantees is for the 2k yard season. The other $16 million is nearly cut in half. $11 million for carrying the weight of a shitty team, for bringing revenue to a shitty team, etc. Make the last $5 million incentive based. Again, that is just me.

Anybody wanna do an over/under how many games he plays before going on IR? Holdout rb's dont last long.

7 or less. Just playing the odds there. I mean, they just paid him, so he will get the ball in his hands at least 25 times a game whether he's in shape or not. With him almost certainly not being where he SHOULD be (due to the lockout and holdout), I think this is fair. Whether or not it is season ending, IDK. But he will definitely get injured. I'd be beyond surprised if he made it the whole season healthy. Of course, I could be wrong and he could have been taking great care of himself and he comes out and kills it. Time will tell.
