I am a Phillies fan and hope that he comes back better than before if that is possible. I love dominate pitchers. He's been throwing well from what I hear and I hope he follows the path of guys like Carpenter, Josh Johnson, Hudson, Wagner, etc. who only get better.

I am also looking forward to them bringing up that punk Bryce Harper next year. ;)

The guy is nasty, but theres no way I would rush him back this year. Yeah it's nice to get some big league work in, but when you have stuff like he does he doesn't really need it. No need to risk it.

The NL East is set to have some crazy good young pitchers next year.

And some crazy good old pitchers still as well.

Nah. He's already throwing in the minors so what does it matter if they bring him up to the majors? It'll be a nice confidence boost considering he'll be the opening day starter. They followed the same path with Jordan Zimmermann and he turned out just fine(no one knows about Zimmermann except Nats fans but he's been one of the better pitchers all year). Zimmermann had TJ surgery and was pitching in the majors less than a year later if I remember correctly.

It should be one hit allowed, too... Ian Desmond let an easy ground ball roll right under his glove and for some reason I don't understand he wasn't given an error for it.

He was hitting 96-97 MPH with the occasional 99MPH fastball.

All on 56 pitches too.

Congrats to Strasburg, Dodgers now up 5-3.

Don't care. Used to seeing the Nationals pathetic bullpen give up leads. All I cared about in this game was Strasburg showing he could replicate what he did last year, and he did.

Nationals could surprise some people in 2012.
