Pat Yasinskas "unleash Newton"

Ben has been getting hurt more and more. Hey I am now gonna jump on the 'let him free' bandwagon and see how this goes. I am willing to guess it isn't going to end well.

But over the same period of time, Ben has been able to absorb much more physical punishment then Vick, because he's a bigger guy - it's a simple matter of physics.

I don't know how it's going to end either, but we drafted Cam in part for his athleticism - at best he uses it like Josh Freemen or Big Ben to extend plays and pick up first downs when all else fails.

So a guy of 250 lb can make 150 tackles a season at LB but Cam will die if he run 5-10 times a game?

Of those 5-10 runs he will have to learn to slide and not always seek the contact. Some here are acting like Panthers are going to say " look Cam we will let you run and you HAVE to throw yourself into every tackle with your head first".

So let him run just tell him to take care of himself.

Oh and BTW with the way our O-line is playing he WILL get killed if he just stand there in the pocket.

I'm not interested in him running. Running QB's do not win Superbowls.

I am interesting in him learning to use his feet properly to buy time in the pocket.

Those QB's do win Superbowls.

Bingo (for the most part). Cam Newton should run about as much as Roethlisberger. He should be looking at as much footage of Ben as he does of Philip Rivers. Even though Rivers runs a similar offense, Cam is probably potentially a more comparable player to Ben.

You just repeated what I said.

Next.

You need to learn to read your own writing.

You said let him loose and we get Luck. Opposite is true....don't let Cam run and force to be more of a run at last resort QB.....and you find yourself in the Luck mix.

I love watching Newton run, but despite his size everyone's knees are susceptible to injury. Eventually he will pay the price if he is always running. He is not invulnerable to injury just because of his size. He will have to learn how to pass from the pocket unless he wants to sit out a season or two. (or three, etc.)

Cam needs to run, run, and then run some more if it moves the chains and scores points.

Some of you guys sound like my grandpa:

"Golly gee wilkers guys remember dem days when everyone said a pass first offense like dem Miami Dolphins couldn't win no championships. Dem dere were the good 'ol days. Nowadays these Brees, Rodgers, and Manning fellers are whipping that foozball all over the place and winning Super Bowls."

The game evolves. What happened last year does not set into stone a future fate that can never be broken. The same way you guys keep saying a QB that can run has never won a Super Bowl sounds an awful lot like the people that used to say a pass first offense had never won a Super Bowl.

Andrew Luck = Cam haters's crutch. There is no reason for his name to even come up, they have nothing to do with each other.

I'm neither a hater or a lover, I'm a logician.

Just because the Panthers don't speak this into news cycles, doesn't mean it's not in the atmosphere surrounding their decision making.

If Luck had come out, someone who everyone knows can make Pro-level throws because they've seen it on a consistent basis just like they saw Manning do in college, and Luck was struggling in the Preseason, I doubt he'd be starting the first game, just like Rivers didn't. Cam is, not just because he needs "experience", but because the Panthers need all questions answered before next years Draft.

If you don't want to hear it, tough.

By the way, Luck is as big and as strong as Newton, and ran as well when he needed to, but because his passing ability and experience in a pro-style offense were his two main strengths, they wouldn't have felt the need to rush him.

P.S. Just because you see the name "Luck" in a post, doesn't mean that post is about Luck. This is still about the Panthers, and why they're doing what they're doing, duh.

Much easier to say when that $22 million is less than the guaranteed portion of Bradford's contract.

I'm not going to say whether or not I hope he succeeds, because it's irrelevant.

It's rational, not malicious.

Firstly, $22 million is not a sum you throw away on a whim. Come on man.

Second, if it is irrelevant whether you hope Cameron succeeds or not, why even throw your Oracle power around for this thread? I am pretty sure your powers can be of use somewhere.

Lastly, although it may not be malicious, it does not make it rational. It is your opinion, a thought that is not based in fact. Please do not act as though you have some outworldly knowledge.

Your rant is not proof positive of a given outcome. Although it is a source of amusement.

I see it coming, GOOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what QB has the 2nd most rushing yards in NFL history.....AND the most rushing TDs?

Pretty sure not only has a ring but a MVP trophy from the game.

Cam has a HUGE strength.....hopefully our coaches realize it should be part of his game

I said this: "If Cam survives, and thrives even a little, the Panthers won't be in a position to draft Luck. If he fails, or gets injured, then they have their excuse when they're sitting back at #1 next season."

You repeated it.

I've already addressed each of those. Everything is not about whether you are "for or against". I prefer dealing with true or false, not love or hate.
