just playing devil's advocate, but what about when Ben just "Dilfer'd" his way with the 1st ring, but saved a game losing TD after Bettis fumbled before scoring from the 1yd line.. which would have kept them from going to the SB..

Was that against the COlts in the AFCCG?

I can't remember.

Sounds just like his supporters.....

Blame anything and everything except what is actually wrong.

His mechanics ARE a big problem. They can and likely will get fixed. But it will take time.

I would think that we are all Cam's "supporters", now, you dig?

Sounds to me as if he is recognizing he has to get the ball out quicker.

Yeah, he didn't realize that O-lines collapse instantly in the NFL, or at least the Panthers' O-line. What the hell do people want him to do?

If our O-line plays like poo, along with a green and raw Cam being thrust in their immediately, especially after no OTAs, then wtf do people expect? It's not necessarily what dreams are made of, and could turn into a nightmare.

He's going to do a lot of learning on the job, and hopefully we will be able to see some progress around mid-season.

Sorry but Fitz scored a TD with like 2 mins left on the clock so the Steelers D failed to hold the lead. It was Ben that won the game with an epic drive.

You missed the obvious. The turning point in the game was that interception which took a touchdown away from Arizona and scored one for them. That is a 14 point turnaround which in a game decided by 4 points was the biggest issue. If Harrison doesn't score that touchdown the Steelers were going to digging out of a big hole. They then went back and forth in the second half. Games are won by big plays at pivotal times which change the momentun and outcome of the game. That moment was defensive not offensive. Ben was thoroughly outplayed by Warner that day. His defense was roughed up but kept the Steelers in the game which allowed Ben to throw the winning touchdown. Otherwise they lose by 10.

and they still would have lost without that game winning TD.. team game after all.. offenses win games, defenses win championships.. (yes, cliches are awesome)

although I agree, Ben hasn't been the typical Aaron Rodgers QB.. more clutch than most I'd say, but a lot less of a surgeon than a butcher..

I think both of you have valid arguments.. just depends how "great" of a QB we are talking..

So the police had no case, got it.

Again you miss the obvious. They had a case for sure but you have to have a witness who will swear out a warrant and go to court. Without that there were no testifying witnesses and the case gets closed. Doesn't mean it didn't happen or there wasn't evidence simply that the case goes away without the victim testifying. There were plenty of witnesses who saw him go into the room and they heard her crying and telling them she was raped right after it happened. Only a Ben nut hugger would keep trying to deny it. There was enough evidence to suspend him 4 games so the league knew he did it as well. Their investigative force is pretty good I understand being ex-cops and ex-FBI guys.

Even Pittsburgh fans know it happened because it wasn't the first time. Once can be a vendetta, but more than once is a pattern.

I think he's so focused on reading coverages and knowing what play they are running that he isn't even thinking about mechanics..basically once the verbage becomes second nature to him then he can move onto other things..

Agree, there's a lot of that all through the team with all the changes combined with no offseason team work.

I said it earlier, once he is playing and reacting instead of thinking he could be dangerous.

His mechanics are atrocious when there's not a nice, clean pocket and he's got to fix that for the rest of it to matter.

Nice, Clean pockets are few and far between these days. TBH his pocket awareness will be become better and his mechanics will follow. He has a good QB coach so we really should not worry about his mechanics as much as keeping him upright. Rome was not built in a day and Cam will not be either. I expect a lot of growing pains this year but I also expect progression that we didnt see in Clausen last year.
